1
On the day when I, Avraham, served among the carved elohim of my father Terach and sought to know who truly is the Mighty El, I entered their house of service and found the stone image Merumath fallen face-down before the iron image Nahon.
2
My heart was troubled, for the image was too heavy for me to raise alone. I called my father, and together we lifted it; but while I held its head, the head broke away.
3
Terach called for his tools. He shaped another body of stone, fastened the fallen head upon it, and shattered what remained of the first body.
4
Thus I began to understand that the thing worshipped by an ish could neither preserve its own body nor restore itself when broken.
