I looked, and the image moved. From the left came a violent people who plundered those on the right - ishim, ishahot, and children. Some they killed; others they carried away.

I saw them rush through four entrances. They burned the House with fire and plundered the set- apart things within it.

I cried, 'Eternal One, the people who spring from me and whom You accepted are plundered, killed, enslaved, and their House burned. Why have You torn my heart with this sight?'

He said, 'What you saw shall happen because some of your Seed provoke Me through the image you saw and through murderous pollution in the House. As you saw, so it shall be.'

I said, 'May these works of lawlessness pass away. Show me instead those who keep the commandments and the works of righteousness.'

He said, 'The days of the righteous shall come. Rulers who deal righteously shall arise at the appointed time. Yet from among them also shall arise those who seek only themselves. You have seen their pattern.'
