91
In those days an ish named Zavad the Parchi, of the family of Peretz, came from Beit-Lechem toward Yerushalayim to fulfill a vow.
92
His father had been sick almost to death, and Zavad had vowed that if Yahuah raised him up he would bring two talents of silver to the House of Yahuah through Daviyd.
93
On the road near the shepherds' house, Zavad lost the pouch containing the silver.
94
In Yerushalayim he wrote notices on the gates promising one talent as reward to whoever returned the pouch containing two talents.
95
An ish of Dan found the pouch and returned it intact.
96
When he asked for the promised reward, Zavad denied the agreement and claimed the pouch had actually contained three talents.
97
He accused the Danite of stealing one talent.
98
The two came before King Daviyd for judgment.
99
Daviyd made Zavad swear by Yahuah that there had been three talents in his pouch.
100
He then made the Danite swear that he had found only two talents.
101
Both swore.
102
Daviyd ruled that the pouch of two talents could not belong to Zavad, because Zavad himself had sworn that his pouch contained three.
103
He therefore gave the two-talent pouch to the Danite as the property Yahuah had allowed him to find.
104
Zavad was ordered to post a new notice seeking the missing pouch that supposedly contained three talents.
105
The Danite bowed before Daviyd and blessed the king.
106
Yisra'el heard the judgment and rejoiced because they saw wisdom from Elohim operating in Daviyd.
