1
Clergy shall not exploit office for secular speculation, luxurious display, drunken feasting, cursing, or factional conflict.
2
Disputes among clergy should first be heard within competent ecclesiastical jurisdiction when the matter is properly ecclesiastical; civil and criminal matters remain subject to the jurisdiction competent over them.
3
No person shall be ordained merely because a patron demands it. Freedom from slavery or other legal incapacity shall be established when such status would prevent lawful service.
4
Ranks shall be honored without becoming idols. The higher office bears the heavier duty of accounting.
5
Clergy shall pray, teach, visit the afflicted, avoid corrupt companionship that compromises office, and reconcile where peace can be made without suppressing valid claims.
6
Punishment shall be proportionate and shall distinguish temporary suspension, deposition, penance, restitution, and civil liability.
