1
And the fifth messenger sounded, and I saw a star fallen from the heavens to the earth, and the key of the shaft of the abyss was given to him.
2
And he opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke ascended from the shaft like smoke from a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the shaft.
3
And from the smoke locusts came out upon the earth, and authority was given to them like the authority the scorpions of the earth have.
4
And it was said to them that they should not harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those Adam who do not have the seal of Elohim upon their foreheads.
5
And it was given to them not to kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes an Adam.
6
And in those days Adam shall seek death and shall certainly not find it; they shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7
And the appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; upon their heads were something like crowns resembling gold, and their faces were like faces of Adam.
8
And they had hair like the hair of ishahot, and their teeth were like lions' teeth.
9
And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of many chariots of horses rushing into battle.
10
And they have tails like scorpions, with stings; and in their tails is their authority to harm Adam five months.
11
They have over them as king the messenger of the abyss; his name in Ivrit is Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon - Destroyer.
12
The first woe passed. See - two woes are still coming after these things.
13
And the sixth messenger sounded, and I heard one voice from the four horns of the golden altar before Elohim,
14
saying to the sixth messenger, the one having the shofar, "Release the four messengers bound at the great river Euphrates."
15
And the four messengers were released, those prepared for the hour, day, month, and year, so that they might kill a third of Adam.
16
And the number of the armies of cavalry was two hundred million; I heard their number.
17
And in this way I saw the horses in the vision and those sitting upon them: they had breastplates fiery red, dark blue, and sulfur-yellow; and the heads of the horses were like heads of lions, and from their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulfur.
18
By these three plagues a third of Adam were killed - by the fire, smoke, and sulfur coming from their mouths.
19
For the authority of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents having heads, and with them they harm.
20
And the rest of Adam, those not killed by these plagues, did not repent from the works of their hands, so that they would stop bowing before shedim and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which are unable to see, hear, or walk.
21
And they did not repent from their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.
