4:1
I said, “My master, you have shown me great and astonishing things. Now show me everything permitted by Yahuah.” 7
4:2
The messenger said, “Come; let us continue.” We traveled from that place for about one hundred eighty-five days.
4:3
He showed me a plain and a serpent whose apparent length was two hundred plethra.
4:4
He showed me the realm of the dead; its appearance was dark and loathsome.
4:5
I asked, “Who is this dragon, and what is the devouring thing surrounding it?”
4:6
The messenger answered, “The dragon consumes the bodies of those who spent their lives in wickedness and is nourished by them.”
4:7
“The thing like him is the realm of the dead. It drinks about a cubit from the sea, yet the sea does not sink.”
4:8
I asked how this could be. He answered, “Yahuah Elohim made three hundred sixty rivers. The principal ones are preserved as Alphias, Abyrus, and Gerikos; because of them the sea is not emptied.”
4:9
I said, “Show me the tree through which Adam was led astray.”
4:10
The messenger answered, “It is the vine planted by Sama’el. Yahuah Elohim became angry, cursed him and his planting, and forbade Adam to touch it. The adversary, being envious, deceived him through the vine.”
4:11
I asked, “If the vine caused such harm, bore a curse, and destroyed the first-formed, why is it useful now?”
4:12
The messenger said, “When Elohim brought the flood and destroyed flesh and the multitude of giants, the water rose fifteen cubits above the highest mountains.”
4:13
“The water entered the Garden and destroyed every blossom, but tore the shoot of the vine from within its bounds and cast it outside.”
4:14
“When the ground emerged and Noach left the ark, he planted from the vegetation he found. He also found the vine shoot and wondered what it was.”
4:15
“I disclosed its history. Noach asked whether he should plant what had ruined Adam. He prayed forty days, wept, and asked Yahuah for instruction.”
4:16
“Elohim sent the messenger Saraśa’el: ‘Rise, Noach, and plant the vine. Its bitterness will be changed to sweetness, and its curse may become blessing.’”
4:17
“Know, Baruk: as Adam lost radiance through this tree, those who surrender themselves without restraint to its wine move far from the radiance of Elohim and toward judgment.” GREEK CHRISTIAN EXPANSION FOLLOWING 4:16 The Greek recension expands Saraśa’el’s word to Noach: the transformed vine will become “the blood of Elohim,” and through Yahushua Mashiyach, called Immanu’el, humanity will receive an upward calling and entrance into the Garden. This is retained here as a witness-layer statement, not inserted into the common Noachic verse stream or projected backward into Torah. 8
