1
But if you prepare your hearts to sow in them the fruit of the Torah, He shall protect you in the time when the Mighty One is appointed to shake all creation.
2
For after a little time the building of Tziyon shall be shaken, yet it shall be built again.
3
But that building shall not remain. After a time it shall again be uprooted and remain desolate for a time.
4
Afterward it must be renewed in praise and perfected forever.
5
Therefore we should not grieve so greatly over the evil that has now come as over what is appointed.
6
For greater than both distresses shall be the contest when the Mighty One is appointed to renew His creation.
7
Now do not draw near me for a few days, and do not seek me until I come to you.
8
When I had spoken all these Words to them, I, Baruk, went on my way. When the people saw me departing, they lifted their voices, lamented, and said:
9
Where are you going from us, Baruk? You leave us like a father who leaves his sons as orphans and departs from them.
