1
Because you asked Elyon to reveal the interpretation of the vision you saw, I was sent to tell you.
2
The Mighty One has made known to you the course of the times that passed and those appointed to pass through His world, from the beginning of His creation to its completion—those of deceit and those of Truth.
3
The great cloud rising from the sea and covering the earth is the span of the world made by the Mighty One when He purposed to make the world.
4
When the Word went out from before Him, the span of the world stood as something small, established according to the abundant understanding of the One who sent it.

The first dark waters descending upon the earth are the transgression committed by Adam, the first son of adam.
6
When he transgressed, untimely death came to be; mourning was named, distress prepared, pain created, labor perfected, pride began to be established, Sheol demanded renewal with blood, the begetting of children came to be, the passion of parents was made, the greatness of humanity was humbled, and Goodness languished.
7

8
This is the beginning of the dark waters you saw.
9

11

12
Some of them descended and mingled with women.
13
Those who did so were tormented in bonds.
14
But the remaining multitude of messengers, who cannot be numbered, restrained themselves.
15
Those dwelling upon the earth perished together by the waters of the flood.
16
These are the first dark waters.
