1
The ninth, dark waters are all the wickedness in the days of Menashsheh son of Hizqiyahu.
2
He acted exceedingly wickedly: killed the Righteous, perverted Judgment, shed innocent blood, violated the wives of men by force, overthrew altars, abolished offerings, and removed the Kohenim from ministering in the Set-Apart House.
3
He made a five-faced image: four faces looked toward the four ruachot, and the fifth was above its head, opposing the zeal of the Mighty One.
4
Then wrath went out from before the Mighty One so that Tziyon should be uprooted, as has occurred in your days.
5
Judgment went out also upon the two and a half tribes that they too should be carried captive, as you now see.
6
Menashsheh’s wickedness became so great that the praise of Elyon withdrew from the Set-Apart House.
7
Therefore Menashsheh was named wicked in this time, and at the end his dwelling shall be in fire.
8
His petition was heard by Elyon at the end, when he fell into the bronze horse and it was melted; this became a sign to him for the hour.
9
He did not live completely, nor was he worthy, but he was to know from then by whom he would be tormented at the end.
10
For the One who can do good can also torment.
