1
The eleventh, dark waters are the evil now befalling Tziyon.
2
Do you suppose the messengers before the Mighty One are not distressed that Tziyon was delivered up, while the nations boast in their hearts, gather before their carved images, and say, “She who long trampled is trampled; she who subjected is subjected”?
3
Do you suppose Elyon rejoices in these things or His Name is praised?
4
But what shall befall His just Judgment?
5
After these things those scattered among the nations shall be held in distress and dwell in reproach in every place.
6
While Tziyon is delivered up and Yerushalayim desolate, carved images prosper in the nations’ cities, and the incense-smoke of Righteousness from the Torah is extinguished in Tziyon, while the smoke of wickedness is everywhere in her place.
7
The king of Bavel who now overthrew Tziyon shall rise, boast over the people, and speak great things in his heart before Elyon.
8
Yet he also shall fall at the end. These are the dark waters.
