1
Therefore, my brothers, I wrote to you so that you may be consoled from the abundance of distress.
2
Know that our Maker shall surely require from all our enemies everything they did to us. The completion Elyon shall make is very near, His compassion is coming, and the completion of His Judgment is not distant.
3
Now we see the abundant prosperity of the nations while they practice wickedness, but they resemble vapor.
4
We gaze upon the greatness of their rule while they act unjustly, but they shall resemble defilement.
5
We see the firmness of their power while they stand against the Mighty One year after year, but they shall be reckoned like spittle.
6
We consider the praise of their greatness while they do not guard the Covenant of Elyon, but they shall pass like smoke.
7
We contemplate the beauty of their loveliness while they conduct themselves in impurity, but they shall wither like grass in the heat.
8
We consider the strength of their hardness while they do not remember the end, but they shall be crushed like a passing wave.
9
We are consoled concerning the boasting of their power while they deny the Goodness of Elohim who gave it to them, but they shall pass like a passing cloud.
