1
Then Tattenai the governor of Avar-Nahara and Kena’an, and Shetar-Bozenai, with their companions, following the commandments of King Daryavesh,
2
very carefully supervised the set-apart work, assisting the elders of the Yehudim and rulers of the temple.
3
So the set-apart work prospered, while Chaggai and Zekharyahu the prophets prophesied.
4
They finished these things by the commandment of Yahuah Elohim of Yisra’el, and with the consent of Koresh, Daryavesh, and Artachshasta, kings of the men of Paras.
5
So the set-apart house was finished by the twenty-third day of the month Adar, in the sixth year of King Daryavesh.
6
The children of Yisra’el, the kohenim, the Leviyim, and the others who returned from captivity who joined them did what was written in the scroll of Mosheh.
7
For the dedication of Yahuah’s temple, they offered one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs,
8
and twelve male goats for the sin of all Yisra’el, according to the number of the twelve princes of the tribes of Yisra’el.
9
The kohenim and the Leviyim stood arrayed in their vestments, according to their kindred, for the services of Yahuah Elohim of Yisra’el, according to the scroll of Mosheh. The gatekeepers were at every gate.
10
The children of Yisra’el who came out of captivity held the Pesach the fourteenth day of the first month, when the kohenim and the Leviyim were set apart together,
11
with all those who returned from captivity; for they were set apart. For the Leviyim were all set apart together,
12
and they offered the Pesach for all who returned from captivity, for their kindred the kohenim, and for themselves.
13
The children of Yisra’el who came out of the captivity ate, even all those who had separated themselves from the abominations of the heathen of the land, and sought Yahuah.
14
They kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days, rejoicing before Yahuah,
15
because he had turned the counsel of the king of Assyria towards them, to strengthen their hands in the works of Yahuah Elohim of Yisra’el.
