Elders, children, craftsmen, rulers, servants, and ordinary households were driven from the land.

Those who had mocked the warning now saw the roads filled with the exiled.

Yirmeyahu watched the people depart and wept.

Some asked, “Where is the Elohim of our fathers?”

Yirmeyahu answered, “He is not absent. This is the consequence He warned you about. Seek Him even in the land of captivity.”
