My child, flee every evil and everything resembling it.

Do not cultivate anger, jealousy, quarrelling, or wrath.

From these things murder is born.

My child, do not cultivate lust, filthy speech, or wandering eyes.

From these things adultery is born.

My child, do not become a reader of omens, an enchanter, an astrologer, or a practitioner of magic, and do not seek such practices.

From these things idolatry is born.

My child, do not become a liar, greedy for possessions, or hungry for empty glory.

From these things theft is born.

My child, do not become a grumbler, self-willed, or a cultivator of evil imagination.

From these things blasphemous speech is born.

Instead, be meek, for the meek inherit the earth.

Be patient, compassionate, without deceit, quiet, and generous; continually hold in reverence the words you have heard.

Do not exalt yourself or give arrogance residence in your nefesh.
3:15
Do not attach your nefesh to the lofty; walk with the righteous and humble.

Receive what comes upon you without abandoning trust, knowing that nothing escapes the knowledge of Elohim.
