1
And Mordekhai commanded Ester to go in to the king, to petition for her people and for the land of her fathers.
2
And he said: “Remember the days of your low estate, how you were raised by my hand. For Haman, who is second after the king, has spoken against us unto death.
3
Therefore call upon Yahuah, and speak to the king for us, and deliver us from death.”
4
And it came to pass on the third day that Ester removed the garments of her mourning and clothed herself in her royal glory.
5
And when she had become radiant in her royal garments, she called upon Elohim, the Ruler and Savior of all. Then she took two maidservants with her.
6
Upon one she leaned gently, as though because of the delicateness of her body she could scarcely support herself.
7
And the other followed behind her, lifting the train of her royal garment.
8
And she herself was radiant in the beauty of her appearance, her face bright and gracious, yet her heart was compressed with anguish and exceedingly great fear.
9
And having passed through all the doors, she stood before the king. And he was sitting upon the Throne of his Kingdom, clothed in all the garments of his royal glory, covered with gold and precious stones, and his appearance was exceedingly fearsome.
10
And lifting his face, burning with royal majesty, he looked upon her in fierce anger. And the queen collapsed. Her appearance changed, and she leaned her head upon the maidservant who went before her.
11
Then Elohim changed the ruach of the king into gentleness. And in alarm he leaped down from his Throne and took her into his arms until she returned to herself. And he comforted her with peaceful words,
12
saying: “What is it, Ester? I am your brother. Do not fear.
13
You shall not die, for this law was established for the others.
14
Draw near, and touch the scepter.”
15
And because she still remained silent, the king took the golden scepter and laid it upon her neck. And he embraced her and said: “Why do you not speak to me?”
16
And she said to him: “I saw you, my master, as a messenger of Elohim, and my heart was troubled because of the fear of your royal glory.
17
For you are exceedingly wonderful, my master, and your face is full of favor.”
18
And while she was speaking, she collapsed again and nearly lost consciousness.
19
And the king was troubled, and all his servants sought to comfort her.
