1
Remember, Yahuah, what has happened to us; look and see our reproach.
2
Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers and our houses to foreigners.
3
We have become orphans without father and our mothers are like widows.
4
We drink our own water for silver and our own wood comes at a price.
5
We are pursued upon our necks; we labor and find no rest.
6
We stretched out the hand to Mitsrayim and Ashshur to obtain bread.
7
Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we bear their crookedness.
8
Servants rule over us and none tears us from their hand.
9
With our lives we bring in bread because of the sword of the wilderness.
10
Our skin burns like an oven because of raging famine.
11
Women were violated in Tziyon and maidens in the cities of Yehudah.
12
Rulers were hanged and the faces of elders were not honored.
13
Young men carried the mill and boys stumbled under wood.
14
Elders ceased from the gate and young men from their music.
15
The joy of our heart ceased and our dancing turned into mourning.
16
The crown fell from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned.
17
Because of this our heart is faint and our eyes grow dim.
18
Mount Tziyon is desolate and foxes walk upon it.
19
You, Yahuah, remain forever; Your Throne is from generation to generation.
20
Why do You forget us for so long and forsake us for length of days?
21
Return us to You, Yahuah, and we shall return; renew our days as of old.
22
Unless You have utterly rejected us and are exceedingly angry with us.
