Book 2 — Chapter 21 — The Egyptian Mentioned in Acts
Yosephus records an Egyptian claimant who gathers a large following, leads them toward the Mount of Olives, and promises that Yerushalayim's walls will fall at his command. Felix attacks the group; many are killed or captured, while the Egyptian escapes. Acts also refers to an Egyptian associated with thousands of insurgents when the Roman commander mistakes Paulos for that figure. Eusebius identifies the reports as referring to the same movement and uses the agreement as another chronological bridge between Acts and Yosephus.
