Book 4 — Chapter 11 - Teachers of Heresy in That Age
Book IV moves through Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus, and Marcus Aurelius, including the Bar Kokhba war, early apologists, Polykarpos, Justin, Hegesippus, Melito, Tatian, and Bardaisan. Eusebius presents the movement polemically as deviation from the teaching he regards as received. HaSefarim preserves his accusation as Eusebius's report and keeps separate the historical fact that competing early communities often described one another through adversarial labels. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 4, Chapter 11, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Teachers of Heresy in That Age'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
