Book 9 — Chapter 6 - Those Martyred at This Time
Book IX narrates the renewed anti-Christian policy under Maximinus Daia, propaganda, famine and war, and the victories of Constantine and Licinius over rival rulers. The chapter records coercion under Roman or local authority: arrest, interrogation, confiscation, exile, torture, execution, or public pressure. Eusebius praises endurance but also records those who yielded, fled, or were later restored. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 9, Chapter 6, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Those Martyred at This Time'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
