Book 10 — Chapter 8 - The Later Conduct and Death of Licinius
Book X celebrates restoration after persecution, records imperial laws and privileges, and closes with Constantine's victory and Eusebius's providential interpretation of the new imperial order. The account is strongly shaped by Eusebius's political theology: military victory and legal toleration are interpreted as providential reversal. The underlying decrees and political events should still be distinguished from Eusebius's theological judgment of them. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 10, Chapter 8, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'The Later Conduct and Death of Licinius'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
