1
And when the wedding feast had been completed, Toviyt called Toviyah his son and said to him: “My son, see that you pay the ish who went with you, and add something to his wages.”
2
And Toviyah said: “Father, how much shall I give him? Even if I gave him half of all that I brought back with me, I would not suffer loss.
3
He brought me back in shalom, he healed my ishah, he brought the silver with me, and he healed you. How much shall I give him?”
4
And Toviyt said: “It is right, my son, that he should receive half of all that you brought back.”
5
So Toviyah called him and said: “Take half of everything that you brought back as your wages, and go in shalom.”
6
Then Rafa’el called the two of them privately and said: “Bless Elohim, and confess Him before all the living for the good things He has done for you. Bless and sing praise to His Name. Make known with honor the works of Elohim, and do not be slow to confess Him.
7
It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but honorable to reveal and confess the works of Elohim. Do what is good, and evil shall not overtake you.
8
Prayer is good with fasting, and righteousness with justice. A little with righteousness is better than much with crookedness. It is better to give in righteousness than to store up gold.
9
For righteousness delivers from death and cleanses away every sin. Those who practice righteousness shall be filled with life.
10
But those who commit sin and crookedness are enemies of their own beings.
11
I will not conceal from you any word. For I said: ‘It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but honorable to reveal the works of Elohim.’
12
And now, when you prayed, you and Sarah, I brought the remembrance of your prayer before the Glory of the Holy One. And when you buried the dead, I was likewise with you.
13
And when you did not hesitate to rise and leave your meal and went and buried the dead, I was sent to test you.
14
And now Elohim sent me to heal you and Sarah your daughter-in-law.
15
I am Rafa’el, one of the seven holy messengers who bring the prayers of the holy ones and enter before the Glory of the Holy One.”
16
Then both of them trembled and fell upon their faces, for they were afraid.
17
But he said to them: “Do not fear. Shalom be with you. Bless Elohim forever.
18
For I did not come by my own favor, but by the will of our Elohim. Therefore bless Him all your days.
19
All the days that I appeared to you, I neither ate nor drank. But you were seeing a vision.
20
And now confess Elohim, for I am ascending to Him who sent me. Write in a sefer all these things that have happened.”
21
And they arose, but they saw him no more.
22
And they confessed the great and wondrous works of Elohim, and how a messenger of Yahuah had appeared to them.
