1
This is the sefer of the commandments of Elohim and the Torah that endures forever. All who hold fast to her shall live, but those who forsake her shall die.
2
Turn, Yaaqov, and take hold of her. Walk toward the shining of her light.
3
Do not give your glory to another, nor the things profitable to you to a foreign nation.
4
Blessed are we, Yisra’el, for the things pleasing to Elohim have been made known to us.
5
Take courage, My people, the memorial of Yisra’el.
6
You were sold to the nations, not for your destruction. But because you provoked Elohim to wrath, you were delivered to your adversaries.
7
For you provoked the One who made you by sacrificing to demons and not to Elohim.
8
You forgot the Everlasting Elohim who nourished you, and you grieved Yerushalayim, who raised you.
9
For she saw the wrath coming upon you from Elohim, and she said: “Hear, neighbors of Tziyon. Elohim has brought upon me great mourning.
10
For I have seen the captivity of my sons and daughters which the Everlasting One brought upon them.
11
With joy I nourished them, but with weeping and mourning I sent them away.
12
Let no one rejoice over me, a widow and forsaken by many. I have been left desolate because of the sins of my children, because they turned away from the Torah of Elohim.
13
They did not know His statutes, nor walk in the ways of His commandments, nor tread the paths of instruction in His Righteousness.
14
Let the neighbors of Tziyon come, and remember the captivity of my sons and daughters, which the Everlasting One brought upon them.
15
For He brought against them a nation from far away— a shameless nation of a foreign tongue, who showed no respect for the old and had no mercy upon the child.
16
They carried away the beloved sons of the widow and left her alone, bereaved of her daughters.
17
But as for me, how can I help you?
18
For He who brought these evils upon you will deliver you from the hand of your enemies.
19
Go, my children, go. For I have been left desolate.
20
I have removed the garment of shalom and clothed myself in sackcloth of my supplication. I will cry out to the Everlasting One throughout my days.
21
Take courage, my children. Cry out to Elohim, and He will deliver you from the power and hand of your enemies.
22
For I have hoped in the Everlasting One for your salvation, and joy has come to me from the Holy One because of the mercy that shall soon come to you from the Everlasting One, your Savior.
23
For I sent you away with mourning and weeping, but Elohim will return you to me with joy and gladness forever.
24
For just as the neighbors of Tziyon have now seen your captivity, so they shall soon see your salvation from our Elohim, which shall come upon you with great Glory and with the splendor of the Everlasting One.
25
My children, endure with patience the wrath that has come upon you from Elohim. Your enemy has pursued you, but soon you shall see his destruction and shall tread upon his neck.
26
My tender ones have traveled rough roads. They were taken away like a flock seized by enemies.
27
Take courage, my children, and cry out to Elohim. For you shall be remembered by Him who brought these things upon you.
28
For just as your mind was set upon wandering away from Elohim, returning, seek Him ten times more.
29
For He who brought these evils upon you shall bring you everlasting joy with your salvation.
30
Take courage, Yerushalayim. He who named you shall comfort you.
31
Wretched are those who afflicted you and rejoiced over your fall.
32
Wretched are the cities that your children served. Wretched is she who received your sons.
33
For just as she rejoiced at your fall and was glad at your ruin, so shall she grieve over her own desolation.
34
And I will take away her rejoicing in her great multitude, and her boasting shall be turned into mourning.
35
For fire shall come upon her from the Everlasting One for many days, and she shall be inhabited by demons for a long time.
36
Look toward the east, Yerushalayim, and see the joy coming to you from Elohim.
37
See, your sons are coming, whom you sent away. They come gathered from east and west at the Word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the Glory of Elohim.
