1
And Shəlomah son of Daviyd strengthened himself over his kingdom, and Yahuah his Elohim was with him and made him exceedingly great.
2
And Shəlomah spoke to all Yisra’el—to the commanders of thousands and hundreds, to the judges, and to every leader in all Yisra’el, the heads of the fathers’ houses.
3
And Shəlomah and the whole assembly with him went to the high place at Giv’on, for the Tent of Meeting of Elohim was there, which Mosheh servant of Yahuah had made in the wilderness.
4
But Daviyd had brought up the Ark of Elohim from Qiryat-Ye’arim to the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Yerushalayim.
5
And the bronze altar made by Betzal’el son of Uri, son of Chur, was there before the Dwelling of Yahuah; and Shəlomah and the assembly sought Him there.
6
And Shəlomah went up there before Yahuah, to the bronze altar at the Tent of Meeting, and offered one thousand ascending offerings upon it.
7
In that night Elohim appeared to Shəlomah and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”
8
And Shəlomah said to Elohim, “You showed great covenant-kindness to Daviyd my father, and You have made me king in his place.
9
Now, Yahuah Elohim, let Your word to Daviyd my father be established, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
10
Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
11
And Elohim said to Shəlomah, “Because this was within your heart, and you did not ask for riches, possessions, or honor, nor for the life of those who hate you, and you did not ask for many days, but asked for wisdom and knowledge by which you may judge My people over whom I made you king,
12
wisdom and knowledge are given to you. And riches, possessions, and honor I will give you, such as no kings before you possessed, nor shall any after you possess the like.”
13
Then Shəlomah came from the high place at Giv’on, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Yerushalayim; and he reigned over Yisra’el.
14
And Shəlomah gathered chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Yerushalayim.
15
And the king made silver and gold in Yerushalayim as common as stones, and cedars as abundant as sycamores in the lowland.
16
And the horses belonging to Shəlomah were brought out from Mitzrayim and from Qeveh; the king’s merchants obtained them from Qeveh at a price.
17
They brought up and exported from Mitzrayim a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver and a horse for one hundred fifty. Thus through their hand they exported them to all the kings of the Chittim and the kings of Aram.
