1
And Shəlomah commanded that a House be built for the Name of Yahuah, and a house for his kingdom.
2
And Shəlomah counted seventy thousand ish to bear burdens, eighty thousand to cut stone in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred to oversee them.
3
And Shəlomah sent to Churam king of Tzor, saying, “As you dealt with Daviyd my father and sent him cedars to build himself a house in which to dwell, so deal with me.
4
See, I am building a House for the Name of Yahuah my Elohim, to set it apart for Him: to burn fragrant incense before Him, to arrange the continual bread, and to offer ascending offerings morning and evening, on the Shabbatot, the new moons, and the appointed times of Yahuah our Elohim. This is upon Yisra’el for all ages.
5
And the House I am building is great, for our Elohim is greater than all powers.
6
But who can contain strength to build Him a House, since the heavens and the heavens of heavens cannot contain Him? And who am I to build Him a House, except as a place to burn offerings before Him?
7
Now send me an ish skilled in working gold, silver, bronze, iron, purple, crimson, and blue, and knowing how to engrave engravings, to work with the skilled ones who are with me in Yehudah and Yerushalayim, whom Daviyd my father prepared.
8
Send me cedar, cypress, and algum wood from Levanon, for I know that your servants know how to cut the trees of Levanon. See, my servants shall be with your servants,
9
to prepare timber for me in abundance, for the House I am building shall be great and wondrous.
10
And see, for the woodcutters who cut the timber, I will give your servants twenty thousand kor of beaten wheat, twenty thousand kor of barley, twenty thousand bat of wine, and twenty thousand bat of oil.”
11
Then Churam king of Tzor answered in writing and sent to Shəlomah: “Because Yahuah loves His people, He has appointed you king over them.”
12
And Churam said, “Blessed is Yahuah, Elohim of Yisra’el, Maker of the heavens and the earth, who gave King Daviyd a wise son, knowing discretion and understanding, who shall build a House for Yahuah and a house for his kingdom.
13
And now I have sent a skilled ish, knowing understanding—Churam-Avi—
14
son of an ishah from the daughters of Dan, whose father was an ish of Tzor. He knows how to work in gold, silver, bronze, iron, stones, wood, purple, blue, fine linen, and crimson; to engrave every engraving and devise every design given to him, together with your skilled ones and the skilled ones of my master Daviyd your father.
15
Now let my master send to his servants the wheat, barley, oil, and wine of which he has spoken.
16
And we shall cut timber from Levanon according to all your need and bring it to you in rafts by sea to Yafo; and you shall carry it up to Yerushalayim.”
17
And Shəlomah counted all the sojourning ish who were in the land of Yisra’el, after the census by which Daviyd his father had counted them; and they were found to be one hundred fifty-three thousand six hundred.
18
And he made seventy thousand of them burden-bearers, eighty thousand stonecutters in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred overseers to cause the people to labor.
