Book VI is dominated by Origen and the intellectual life of Alexandria and Caesarea, then the persecutions under Severus, Maximinus, and Decius, with Dionysius of Alexandria becoming a principal witness. The chapter records coercion under Roman or local authority: arrest, interrogation, confiscation, exile, torture, execution, or public pressure. Eusebius praises endurance but also records those who yielded, fled, or were later restored. He synchronizes local leadership with imperial reigns, using successions at Rome, Alexandria, Antioch, and Yerushalayim as chronological anchors. These notices are institutional claims from his sources, not proof that every later title or jurisdiction existed in identical form from the beginning. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 6, Chapter 41, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Martyrs in Alexandria'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
