Book VII follows Dionysius of Alexandria through disputes over washing converts, Valerian's persecution, Gallienus's peace, the Apocalypse debate, Paulos of Samosata, and the emergence of the Manichaean movement. He synchronizes local leadership with imperial reigns, using successions at Rome, Alexandria, Antioch, and Yerushalayim as chronological anchors. These notices are institutional claims from his sources, not proof that every later title or jurisdiction existed in identical form from the beginning. Eusebius presents the movement polemically as deviation from the teaching he regards as received. HaSefarim preserves his accusation as Eusebius's report and keeps separate the historical fact that competing early communities often described one another through adversarial labels. In this reconstruction the chapter coordinate is preserved as Book 7, Chapter 27, and the full subject is retained under the heading 'Paulos of Samosata and His Teaching at Antioch'. Names, dates, quoted-source relationships, and political or textual function are kept distinct from Eusebius's own interpretive claims.
