1
And it came to pass in the twenty-sixth year of the reign of Chizqiyahu king of Yehudah that he called Menasheh his son, for he was his only son.
2
And he brought him into the presence of Yeshayahu son of Amotz the prophet, and into the presence of Yosab son of Yeshayahu, so that he might entrust to him the words of righteousness which the king himself had seen.
3
These concerned the everlasting Judgments, the torments of Gei-Hinnom, the ruler of this world, and his messengers, authorities, and powers.
4
And they concerned the words of trust concerning the Beloved, which Chizqiyahu himself had seen in the fifteenth year of his reign during his sickness.
5
And he delivered to him the written words which Shebna the scribe had written, and also those which Yeshayahu son of Amotz had given to him and to the prophets, so that they might write and store with him what had been seen in the king's house concerning the Judgment of the messengers, the destruction of this world, the garments of the set- apart ones and their going forth, their transformation, and the persecution and ascension of the Beloved.
6
In the twentieth year of the reign of Chizqiyahu, Yeshayahu had seen the words of this prophecy and had delivered them to Yosab his son. And while Chizqiyahu was giving these commands, Yosab son of Yeshayahu stood nearby.
7
And Yeshayahu said to Chizqiyahu the king - and he did not speak this only in the presence of Menasheh: 'As Yahuah lives, and as the Ruach who speaks in me lives, all these commands and words shall be made ineffective by Menasheh your son, and through the work of his hands I shall depart amid the torment of my body.'
8
And Samma'el Malkira shall serve Menasheh and accomplish all his desire, and Menasheh shall become a follower of Beliar rather than of me.
9
And he shall cause many in Yerushalayim and Yehudah to abandon the true trust, and Beliar shall dwell in Menasheh; and by his hands I shall be sawn apart.
10
And when Chizqiyahu heard these words, he wept bitterly, tore his garments, placed earth upon his head, and fell upon his face.
11
And Yeshayahu said to him: 'The counsel of Samma'el concerning Menasheh has been completed; nothing you do shall overturn it.'
12
And on that day Chizqiyahu resolved in his heart to kill Menasheh his son.
13
But Yeshayahu said to Chizqiyahu: 'The Beloved has made your design ineffective, and the purpose of your heart shall not be accomplished. For with this calling I have been called, and I shall inherit the Inheritance of the Beloved.'
