1
“Yahuah El Shaddai, Elohim of Yisra’el, the being in anguish and the troubled ruach cry out to You.
2
Hear, Yahuah, and have mercy, for we have sinned before You.
3
For You remain forever, but we perish forever.
4
Yahuah El Shaddai, Elohim of Yisra’el, hear now the prayer of the dead of Yisra’el and of the sons of those who sinned before You, who did not hear the voice of Yahuah their Elohim, so that these evils have clung to us.
5
Do not remember the crookednesses of our fathers, but remember Your hand and Your Name at this time.
6
For You are Yahuah our Elohim, and we will praise You, Yahuah.
7
For because of this You placed Your fear in our hearts, that we should call upon Your Name and praise You in our captivity. For we have turned away from all the crookedness of our fathers who sinned before You.
8
See, we are still today in our captivity, where You scattered us for reproach, for a curse and for repayment, according to all the crookednesses of our fathers who departed from Yahuah our Elohim.”
9
Hear, Yisra’el, the commandments of life. Give ear to understand wisdom.
10
Why is it, Yisra’el, that you are in the land of your enemies, that you have grown old in a foreign land,
11
that you are defiled with the dead, and counted among those who descend to Sheol?
12
You have forsaken the fountain of wisdom.
13
If you had walked in the way of Elohim, you would have dwelt in shalom forever.
14
Learn where wisdom is, where strength is, where understanding is, that you may know also where length of days and life are, where the light of the eyes and shalom are.
15
Who has found her place? And who has entered into her treasuries?
16
Where are the rulers of the nations, and those who ruled over the beasts upon the earth,
17
those who played with the birds of the heavens, and those who stored up silver and gold, in which Adam trusts, and whose possessions had no end?
18
Those who worked silver and were anxious over it, whose works cannot be searched out—
19
they vanished and descended to Sheol, and others arose in their place.
20
Younger ones saw the light and dwelt upon the earth, but they did not know the way of knowledge,
21
nor understand her paths, nor take hold of her. Their sons also were far from her way.
22
She was not heard of in Kena’an, nor seen in Teman.
23
The sons of Hagar who seek understanding upon the earth, the merchants of Merran and Teman, the tellers of parables and seekers after understanding— none of them knew the way of wisdom or remembered her paths.
24
O Yisra’el, how great is the House of Elohim, and how vast the place of His possession!
25
Great and without end, high and immeasurable.
26
There were born the renowned giants of ancient times, great in stature and skilled in war.
27
Elohim did not choose them, nor give them the way of knowledge.
28
So they perished because they had no wisdom. They perished through their own lack of understanding.
29
Who has gone up into the heavens and taken her and brought her down from the clouds?
30
Who has crossed the sea and found her and brought her for choice gold?
31
No one knows her way or thinks upon her path.
32
But He who knows all things knows her. He found her by His understanding. He who prepared the earth for all time filled it with four-footed creatures.
33
He sends forth the light, and it goes. He calls it, and trembling it obeys Him.
34
The stars shone in their watches and rejoiced.
35
He called them, and they said: “Here we are.” And they shone with joy for Him who made them.
36
This is our Elohim. No other shall be reckoned beside Him.
37
He found the whole way of knowledge and gave her to Yaaqov His servant and to Yisra’el His beloved.
38
Afterward she appeared upon the earth and lived among Adam.
