1
I, Baruk, say this against you, Bavel: If you were prospering while Tziyon dwelt in her praise, our pain would be great, because you would have been made equal to Tziyon.
2
But now, behold, pain without limit and groaning without measure, because you prosper while Tziyon is desolate.
3
Who shall judge concerning these things? To whom shall we complain concerning what has befallen us? O Yahuah, how have You endured it?
4
Our fathers fell asleep without pain, and behold, the Righteous rest in the earth in peace.
5
For they did not know this distress, nor did they hear of what has befallen us.
6
Let the earth become ears for you, and the dust a heart. Go, announce it in Sheol, and say to the dead:
7
More favored are you than we who are alive.
