1
I petitioned the Mighty One and said: You alone, my Adonai, know beforehand the heights of the world. By Your Word You bring what befalls in the times; according to the works of earth’s inhabitants You hasten the beginnings of the times, and You alone know the ends of the seasons.
2
Nothing is difficult for You; You accomplish everything easily by a sign.
3
The depths are before You like the heights, and the beginnings of the ages minister to Your Word.
4
You reveal to those who fear what is appointed for them, so that from here they are prophets.
5
You make powers known to those without knowledge, open understanding to those without comprehension, illumine dark things, and reveal hidden things to the blameless who submit in belief to You and Your Torah.
6
You showed Your servant this vision; reveal its interpretation also.
7
I know I received a Word concerning what I asked, and You revealed what I sought. Make known by what voice I shall praise You and by what members I shall lift praise and exultation to You.
8
If my members were mouths and the hairs of my head voices, even then I could not repay Your praise, praise You as is right, recount Your praise, or declare the honor of Your beauty.
9
For what am I among the sons of adam, or how am I reckoned among those better than I, that I heard all these wonders from Elyon and unbounded messages from the One who created me?
10
Favored is my mother among those bearing children, and praised among women is she who bore me.
11
I shall not cease praising the Mighty One, but with a voice of praise recount His wonders.
12
Who resembles You in Your wonders, Elohim? Who comprehends Your deep counsel of life?
13
By Your counsel You govern all creation Your right hand brought forth. You established every fountain of light with You and prepared the storehouses of Wisdom beneath Your throne.
14
Justly those who did not love Your Torah perish, and the torment of Judgment receives those who did not submit to Your rule.
15
Though the first Adam sinned and brought untimely death upon all, each one born from him prepared for his own being the coming torment, or chose for himself the appointed praises.
16
For the one who believes receives reward.
17
But now, you present wicked ones, return to corruption, for you shall be visited swiftly because you once despised the understanding of Elyon.
18
His works did not teach you, nor did the craftsmanship of His creation continually persuade you.
19
Adam is therefore a cause only for his own being; each one of us has become Adam to his own being.
20
But You, my Adonai, interpret what You revealed to me and make known what I asked of You.
21
At the completion of the world, those who acted unjustly shall be required according to their injustice, and You shall praise the faithful according to their faithfulness.
22
For You govern those who are Yours, and blot out from among Yours those who sin.
