1
For Elyon shall surely hasten His times and bring His appointed seasons.
2
He shall judge those in His world and visit in Truth everything done by all their works of sin.
3
He shall search hidden thoughts and everything laid in the chambers of every member through wickedness, and bring it openly before everyone with reproof.
4
Therefore let none of these present things ascend upon your hearts; chiefly let us hope, because what is promised is coming.
5
Let us not gaze at the present luxuries of the nations, but remember what is promised to us at the end.
6
For the boundaries of time and appointed season pass, and everything within them together.
7
Then the completion of the world shall show the great power of its Governor, when everything comes to Judgment.
8
Therefore prepare your hearts for what you formerly believed, so you are not condemned in both worlds—captive here and tormented there.
9
Of everything present, past, or coming, neither evil is yet fully evil nor good fully good.
10
Every present health turns to sickness.
11
Every present strength turns to weakness, and every present power to feebleness.
12
Every vigor of youth turns to old age and completion, and every present beauty of loveliness becomes withered and hateful.
13
Every present pride of stature turns to lowliness and shame.
14
Every praise of present height turns to silent shame, and every present majesty and arrogance to a sudden fall.
15
Every present luxury and delight turns to humiliation and corruption.
16
Every cry of present boasting turns to silent dust.
17
Every possession of present riches turns only to Sheol.
18
Every present seizure of desire turns to unwilling death, and every desire of passion to a Judgment of torment.
19
Every present craft of deceit turns to the reproof of Truth.
20
Every present sweetness of ointment turns to Judgment and condemnation.
21
Every friendship turns to silent reproach.
22
Since all these things now come to be, do you suppose they shall not be required?
23
The completion of all shall come to Truth.
