1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2
“Command the sons of Yisra’el that they send out from the camp every one with tzara’at, and everyone with a discharge, and everyone made unclean by a dead being.
3
Whether male or female, you shall send them outside the camp. You shall send them, so that they do not make their camps unclean, in the midst of which I dwell.”
4
And the sons of Yisra’el did so and sent them outside the camp. According to what Yahuah had spoken to Mosheh, so the sons of Yisra’el did.
5
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
6
“Speak to the sons of Yisra’el: When an ish or an ishah commits any of the sins of Adam by acting unfaithfully against Yahuah, and that being becomes guilty,
7
then they shall confess their sin that they have done. And he shall return his guilt in its full amount and add one-fifth to it, and give it to the one against whom he became guilty.
8
But if the ish has no redeemer to whom the guilt may be returned, then the guilt that is returned to Yahuah shall belong to the kohen, besides the ram of atonement by which atonement is made for him.
9
And every contribution from all the holy things of the sons of Yisra’el that they bring near to the kohen shall belong to him.
10
And each ish’s holy things shall belong to him; whatever an ish gives to the kohen shall belong to him.”
11
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
12
“Speak to the sons of Yisra’el and say to them: If the ishah of any ish turns aside and acts unfaithfully against him,
13
and an ish lies with her with seed of copulation, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and she is concealed though she has made herself unclean, and there is no witness against her, and she was not caught,
14
and a ruach of jealousy passes over him and he becomes jealous for his ishah, and she has made herself unclean; or a ruach of jealousy passes over him and he becomes jealous for his ishah, though she has not made herself unclean,
15
then the ish shall bring his ishah to the kohen, and he shall bring her offering for her: one-tenth of an ephah of barley flour. He shall pour no oil upon it and place no frankincense upon it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrance, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16
And the kohen shall bring her near and cause her to stand before Yahuah.
17
And the kohen shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and from the dust that is upon the floor of the Dwelling the kohen shall take and place it into the water.
18
And the kohen shall cause the ishah to stand before Yahuah, uncover the head of the ishah, and place upon her palms the grain offering of remembrance, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And in the hand of the kohen shall be the bitter water that brings a curse.
19
And the kohen shall cause her to swear and shall say to the ishah, ‘If no ish has lain with you, and if you have not turned aside into uncleanness beneath your husband, then be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.
20
But if you have turned aside beneath your husband, and if you have made yourself unclean, and an ish besides your husband has given his lying with you’—
21
then the kohen shall cause the ishah to swear with the oath of the curse, and the kohen shall say to the ishah—‘May Yahuah make you a curse and an oath among your people, when Yahuah causes your thigh to fall and your belly to swell.
22
And this water that brings the curse shall enter into your inward parts, to cause the belly to swell and the thigh to fall.’ And the ishah shall say, ‘Amen, amen.’
23
And the kohen shall write these curses in a sefer and wipe them into the bitter water.
24
And he shall cause the ishah to drink the bitter water that brings the curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter into her for bitterness.
25
And the kohen shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the hand of the ishah, and wave the grain offering before Yahuah, and bring it near to the altar.
26
And the kohen shall take a handful from the grain offering as its memorial portion and burn it upon the altar, and afterward he shall cause the ishah to drink the water.
27
And when he has caused her to drink the water, then it shall be, if she has made herself unclean and acted unfaithfully against her husband, that the water bringing the curse shall enter into her for bitterness, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall, and the ishah shall become a curse in the midst of her people.
28
But if the ishah has not made herself unclean and is clean, then she shall be free and shall conceive seed.
29
This is the Torah of jealousy, when an ishah turns aside beneath her husband and makes herself unclean,
30
or when a ruach of jealousy passes over an ish and he becomes jealous for his ishah. Then he shall cause the ishah to stand before Yahuah, and the kohen shall do to her according to all this Torah.
31
And the ish shall be free from iniquity, but that ishah shall bear her iniquity.
