1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out from the land of Mitzrayim, saying,
2
“And the sons of Yisra’el shall prepare the Pesach at its appointed time.
3
On the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, you shall prepare it at its appointed time. According to all its statutes and according to all its judgments you shall prepare it.”
4
And Mosheh spoke to the sons of Yisra’el to prepare the Pesach.
5
And they prepared the Pesach in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between the evenings, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Yahuah commanded Mosheh, so the sons of Yisra’el did.
6
And there were men who were unclean because of a dead being and were not able to prepare the Pesach on that day. And they drew near before Mosheh and before Aharon on that day.
7
And those men said to him, “We are unclean because of a dead being. Why should we be held back from bringing near the offering of Yahuah at its appointed time in the midst of the sons of Yisra’el?”
8
And Mosheh said to them, “Stand, and I will hear what Yahuah commands concerning you.”
9
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
10
“Speak to the sons of Yisra’el, saying: If any ish among you or among your generations is unclean because of a dead being, or is on a distant journey, yet he shall prepare the Pesach to Yahuah.
11
In the second month, on the fourteenth day, between the evenings, they shall prepare it. With unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.
12
They shall leave none of it until morning, and they shall not break a bone of it. According to all the statute of the Pesach they shall prepare it.
13
But the ish who is clean and is not on a journey, and yet ceases from preparing the Pesach, that being shall be cut off from his people, because he did not bring near the offering of Yahuah at its appointed time. That ish shall bear his sin.
14
And if a sojourner sojourns with you and prepares Pesach to Yahuah, according to the statute of the Pesach and according to its judgment, so he shall prepare it. One statute shall be for you, for the sojourner and for the native of the land.”
15
And on the day the Dwelling was raised up, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the Tent of the Testimony. And in the evening there was over the Dwelling something like the appearance of fire until morning.
16
So it was continually: the cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night.
17
And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, afterward the sons of Yisra’el journeyed. And in the place where the cloud settled, there the sons of Yisra’el encamped.
18
By the mouth of Yahuah the sons of Yisra’el journeyed, and by the mouth of Yahuah they encamped. All the days that the cloud settled over the Dwelling, they remained encamped.
19
And when the cloud remained over the Dwelling many days, the sons of Yisra’el guarded the charge of Yahuah and did not journey.
20
And sometimes the cloud was over the Dwelling a number of days. By the mouth of Yahuah they remained encamped, and by the mouth of Yahuah they journeyed.
21
And sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning, and the cloud was taken up in the morning, and they journeyed. Or by day and by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
22
Whether two days, or a month, or many days, when the cloud prolonged its dwelling over the Dwelling, the sons of Yisra’el remained encamped and did not journey. But when it was taken up, they journeyed.
23
By the mouth of Yahuah they encamped, and by the mouth of Yahuah they journeyed. They guarded the charge of Yahuah, by the mouth of Yahuah through the hand of Mosheh.
