1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2
“Speak to the sons of Yisra’el, and take from them one staff for each father’s house, from all their rulers according to the houses of their fathers, twelve staffs. Write each ish’s name upon his staff.
3
And you shall write the name of Aharon upon the staff of Levi, for one staff shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
4
And you shall place them in the Tent of Meeting before the Testimony, where I meet with you.
5
And it shall be that the staff of the ish whom I choose shall blossom, and I will cause the murmurings of the sons of Yisra’el, which they murmur against you, to cease from before Me.”
6
And Mosheh spoke to the sons of Yisra’el, and all their rulers gave him a staff, one staff for each ruler, according to the houses of their fathers, twelve staffs; and the staff of Aharon was among their staffs.
7
And Mosheh placed the staffs before Yahuah in the Tent of the Testimony.
8
And it came to pass on the next day that Mosheh entered the Tent of the Testimony, and see, the staff of Aharon for the house of Levi had blossomed. It had brought forth buds, produced blossoms, and ripened almonds.
9
And Mosheh brought out all the staffs from before Yahuah to all the sons of Yisra’el. And they saw, and each ish took his staff.
10
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Return the staff of Aharon before the Testimony, to be kept as a sign against the sons of rebellion, that you may bring their murmurings against Me to an end, so that they do not die.”
11
And Mosheh did so. According to what Yahuah commanded him, so he did.
12
And the sons of Yisra’el spoke to Mosheh, saying, “See, we perish! We are lost! All of us are lost!
13
Everyone who draws near, who draws near to the Dwelling of Yahuah, dies. Shall we perish completely?”
