1
And Mosheh spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Yisra’el, saying, “This is the word that Yahuah has commanded:
2
If an ish vows a vow to Yahuah, or swears an oath to bind a binding upon his being, he shall not break his word. According to all that goes out from his mouth, he shall do.
3
And if an ishah vows a vow to Yahuah and binds a binding upon herself in the house of her father, in her youth,
4
and her father hears her vow and her binding by which she has bound her being, and her father remains silent toward her, then all her vows shall stand, and every binding by which she has bound her being shall stand.
5
But if her father restrains her on the day he hears, none of her vows or her bindings by which she has bound her being shall stand. And Yahuah will forgive her, because her father restrained her.
6
And if she belongs to an ish while her vows are upon her, or the utterance of her lips by which she has bound her being,
7
and her husband hears and remains silent toward her on the day he hears, then her vows shall stand, and her bindings by which she has bound her being shall stand.
8
But if on the day her husband hears he restrains her, then he shall nullify her vow that is upon her and the utterance of her lips by which she bound her being. And Yahuah will forgive her.
9
But the vow of a widow or of a divorced ishah—everything by which she has bound her being shall stand upon her.
10
And if she vowed in the house of her husband, or bound a binding upon her being with an oath,
11
and her husband heard and remained silent toward her and did not restrain her, then all her vows shall stand, and every binding by which she bound her being shall stand.
12
But if nullifying, her husband nullifies them on the day he hears them, then whatever went out from her lips concerning her vows or concerning the binding of her being shall not stand. Her husband has nullified them, and Yahuah will forgive her.
13
Every vow and every oath of binding to afflict the being—her husband may establish it, and her husband may nullify it.
14
But if her husband remains completely silent toward her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows or all her bindings that are upon her. He has established them because he remained silent toward her on the day he heard them.
15
But if nullifying, he nullifies them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.”
16
These are the statutes that Yahuah commanded Mosheh between an ish and his ishah, between a father and his daughter in her youth in the house of her father.
