1
And the heads of the fathers of the family of the sons of Gilad son of Makhir, son of Menasheh, from the families of the sons of Yosef, drew near and spoke before Mosheh and before the rulers, the heads of the fathers of the sons of Yisra’el.

And they said, “Yahuah commanded my master to give the land as an inheritance by lot to the sons of Yisra’el, and my master was commanded by Yahuah to give the inheritance of Tzelofchad our brother to his daughters.
3
And if they become wives to any of the sons of the other tribes of the sons of Yisra’el, then their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they belong. And it shall be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4
And when the Yovel comes for the sons of Yisra’el, their inheritance shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they belong, and their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”
5
And Mosheh commanded the sons of Yisra’el by the mouth of Yahuah, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Yosef speaks rightly.

This is the word that Yahuah commands concerning the daughters of Tzelofchad, saying: Let them become wives to whomever is good in their eyes; only within the family of the tribe of their father shall they become wives.
7
And the inheritance of the sons of Yisra’el shall not turn from tribe to tribe, for each ish of the sons of Yisra’el shall hold to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8
And every daughter who possesses an inheritance among the tribes of the sons of Yisra’el shall become the wife of one from the family of the tribe of her father, so that the sons of Yisra’el may each possess the inheritance of his fathers.
9
And an inheritance shall not turn from one tribe to another tribe, for each of the tribes of the sons of Yisra’el shall hold to his own inheritance.”

According to what Yahuah commanded Mosheh, so the daughters of Tzelofchad did.
11
And Machlah, Tirtzah, Choglah, Milkah, and No’ah, the daughters of Tzelofchad, became wives to the sons of their father’s brothers.
12
They became wives within the families of the sons of Menasheh son of Yosef, and their inheritance remained with the tribe of the family of their father.
13
These are the commandments and the judgments that Yahuah commanded by the hand of Mosheh to the sons of Yisra’el in the plains of Moav by the Yarden, opposite Yericho.
