1
And Yosef was not able to restrain himself before all who stood by him, and he cried, “Cause every ish to go out from before me.” And no ish stood with him when Yosef made himself known to his brothers.
2
And he gave his voice to weeping, and the Mitzrim heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
3
And Yosef said to his brothers, “I am Yosef. Is my father still alive?” And his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified before his face.
4
And Yosef said to his brothers, “Please draw near to me.” And they drew near. And he said, “I am Yosef your brother, whom you sold into Mitzrayim.
5
And now, do not be grieved, and do not let it burn in your eyes that you sold me here, because for the preservation of life Elohim sent me before you.
6
For these two years the famine has been within the land, and there are still five years in which there shall be neither plowing nor harvest.
7
And Elohim sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.
8
And now, it was not you who sent me here, but Elohim. And He has set me as father to Pharaoh, and adon over all his house, and ruler throughout all the land of Mitzrayim.
9
Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, ‘Thus says your son Yosef: Elohim has set me as adon over all Mitzrayim. Come down to me; do not delay.
10
And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me—you, and your sons, and the sons of your sons, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that belongs to you.
11
And there I will sustain you, for there are still five years of famine, lest you and your house and all that belongs to you be reduced to poverty.’
12
And see, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Binyamin, that it is my mouth speaking to you.
13
And you shall tell my father of all my honor in Mitzrayim, and of all that you have seen. And you shall hurry and bring my father down here.”
14
And he fell upon the neck of Binyamin his brother and wept, and Binyamin wept upon his neck.
15
And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them. And afterward his brothers spoke with him.
16
And the report was heard in the house of Pharaoh, saying, “The brothers of Yosef have come.” And it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants.
17
And Pharaoh said to Yosef, “Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: load your animals and go, enter the land of Kena’an.
18
And take your father and your houses and come to me, and I will give you the good of the land of Mitzrayim, and you shall eat the fat of the land.’
19
And you are commanded: ‘Do this: take wagons for yourselves from the land of Mitzrayim for your little ones and for your women, and carry your father and come.
20
And do not let your eye spare your possessions, because the good of all the land of Mitzrayim is yours.’”
21
And the sons of Yisra’el did so. And Yosef gave them wagons according to the command of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
22
To all of them he gave changes of garments, but to Binyamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments.
23
And to his father he sent according to this: ten donkeys carrying from the good things of Mitzrayim, and ten female donkeys carrying grain and bread and food for his father for the way.
24
And he sent his brothers away, and they went. And he said to them, “Do not become agitated with one another on the way.”
25
And they went up from Mitzrayim and came to the land of Kena’an, to Yaaqov their father.
26
And they told him, saying, “Yosef is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Mitzrayim.” And his heart became numb, because he did not believe them.
27
And they spoke to him all the words of Yosef that he had spoken to them. And he saw the wagons that Yosef had sent to carry him, and the ruach of Yaaqov their father revived.
28
And Yisra’el said, “Enough. Yosef my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
