1
And it happened, while the crowd pressed around him to hear the Word of Elohim, he was standing beside the lake of Gennesar.
2
And he saw two boats standing beside the lake, but the fishermen had gone out from them and were washing their nets.
3
And entering one of the boats, which belonged to Shim’on, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down, he taught the crowds from the boat.
4
And when he finished speaking, he said to Shim’on: “Put out into the deep, and lower your nets for a catch.”
5
And Shim’on answered and said: “Master, through the whole night we labored and caught nothing. But at your word I shall lower the nets.”
6
And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fish, and their nets began to tear.
7
And they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
8
And when Shim’on Kepha saw this, he fell down at the knees of Yahushua, saying: “Depart from me, Master, for I am a sinful ish.”
9
For astonishment had seized him and all those with him because of the catch of fish which they had taken.
10
And likewise also Yaaqov and Yochanan, sons of Zavdai, who were partners with Shim’on. And Yahushua said to Shim’on: “Do not fear. From now on you shall be gathering Adam.”
11
And when they brought the boats to the land, they left everything and followed him.
12
And it happened, while he was in one of the cities, see— there was an ish covered with tzara’at. And seeing Yahushua, he fell upon his face and petitioned him, saying: “Master, if you desire, you are able to cleanse me.”
13
And stretching out his hand, Yahushua touched him, saying: “I desire it. Be cleansed.” And immediately the tzara’at departed from him.
14
And he commanded him to tell no one, but said: “Go. Show yourself to the kohen, and offer for your cleansing just as Mosheh commanded, as a testimony to them.”
15
But the report concerning him spread even more. And great crowds gathered to hear him and to be restored from their illnesses.
16
But he would withdraw into deserted places and pray.
17
And it happened on one of those days, while he was teaching, there were Perushim and teachers of Torah sitting there, who had come from every village of Galil and Yehudah and Yerushalayim. And the power of Yahuah was present for restoration.
18
And see— some men were carrying upon a bed an ish who was paralyzed. And they were seeking to bring him inside and place him before Yahushua.
19
And not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up upon the roof and lowered him through the roof tiles, with his bed, into the midst before Yahushua.
20
And seeing their trust, he said: “Ish, your sins are forgiven you.”
21
And the scribes and the Perushim began reasoning, saying: “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except Elohim alone?”
22
But Yahushua, knowing their reasoning, answered and said to them: “Why are you reasoning these things in your hearts?
23
Which is easier— to say: ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say: ‘Rise and walk’?
24
But so that you may know that the Son of Adam has authority upon the earth to forgive sins—” he said to the paralyzed ish: “I tell you: Rise. Take up your bed and go to your house.”
25
And immediately, rising before them, he took up what he had been lying upon and went to his house, glorifying Elohim.
26
And astonishment seized them all. And they glorified Elohim and were filled with fear, saying: “We have seen extraordinary things today.”
27
And after these things he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax station. And he said to him: “Follow me.”
28
And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.
29
And Levi made a great feast for him in his house. And there was a great crowd of tax collectors and others reclining with them.
30
And the Perushim and their scribes were murmuring against his talmidim, saying: “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and those publicly known for sinful conduct?”
31
And Yahushua answered and said to them: “Those who are healthy have no need of a healer, but those who are sick.
32
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to turn back.”
33
And they said to him: “The talmidim of Yochanan fast often and make petitions, and likewise those of the Perushim, but yours eat and drink.”
34
And Yahushua said to them: “Are you able to make the sons of the bridal chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them?
35
But days shall come when the bridegroom is taken away from them. Then they shall fast in those days.”
36
And he also spoke a parable to them: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it upon an old garment. Otherwise, he both tears the new, and the piece from the new does not agree with the old.
37
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine shall burst the wineskins, and it shall be spilled, and the wineskins shall be destroyed.
38
But new wine must be put into new wineskins.
39
And no one, after drinking old wine, immediately desires new, for he says: ‘The old is good.’”
