1
And after these things the Master appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two before his face into every city and place where he himself was about to go.
2
And he said to them: “The harvest is indeed great, but the workers are few. Therefore petition the Master of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.
3
Go. See— I send you like lambs in the midst of wolves.
4
Carry no purse, no bag, and no sandals. And greet no one along the road.
5
And into whatever house you enter, first say: ‘Shalom to this house.’
6
And if a son of shalom is there, your shalom shall rest upon him. But if not, it shall return to you.
7
And remain in that house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not move from house to house.
8
And into whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is placed before you.
9
And restore the sick who are in it, and say to them: ‘The Kingdom of Elohim has drawn near to you.’
10
But into whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say:
11
‘Even the dust of your city that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this: the Kingdom of Elohim has drawn near.’
12
I tell you: it shall be more bearable for Sedom in that day than for that city.
13
Woe to you, Korazin. Woe to you, Beit-Tzaidah. For if the powerful works done in you had been done in Tzor and Tzidon, they would have turned back long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14
But it shall be more bearable for Tzor and Tzidon in the Judgment than for you.
15
And you, Kefar-Nachum— shall you be lifted up to the heavens? You shall be brought down to Sheol.
16
Whoever hears you hears me. And whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the One who sent me.”
17
And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: “Master, even the unclean ruachot submit to us in your name.”
18
And he said to them: “I was watching the adversary fall from the heavens like lightning.
19
See— I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall injure you.
20
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this— that the ruachot submit to you. Rather rejoice that your names are written in the heavens.”
21
In that same hour he rejoiced greatly in Holy Ruach and said: “I praise You, Father, Master of the heavens and the earth, because You hid these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was pleasing before You.
22
All things have been handed over to me by my Father. And no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal Him.”
23
And turning privately toward the talmidim, he said: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
24
For I tell you: many prophets and kings desired to see what you see and did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it.”
25
And see— a certain one learned in Torah stood up, testing him, saying: “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life?”
26
And he said to him: “What is written in the Torah? How do you read it?”
27
And he answered: “You shall love Yahuah your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your strength, and with all your understanding, and your neighbor as yourself.”
28
And he said to him: “You answered rightly. Do this, and you shall live.”
29
But desiring to justify himself, he said to Yahushua: “And who is my neighbor?”
30
And Yahushua answered: “A certain ish was going down from Yerushalayim to Yericho and fell among robbers. And they stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.
31
And by circumstance a certain kohen was going down that road. And seeing him, he passed by on the other side.
32
And likewise a Levi, coming to the place and seeing him, passed by on the other side.
33
But a certain Shomeroni, while traveling, came near him. And seeing him, he had compassion.
34
And approaching, he bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine upon them. And placing him upon his own animal, he brought him to a lodging house and cared for him.
35
And on the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the keeper of the lodging house and said: ‘Care for him. And whatever more you spend, when I return, I shall repay you.’
36
Which of these three seems to you to have become a neighbor to the one who fell among the robbers?”
37
And he said: “The one who showed him compassion.” And Yahushua said to him: “Go, and you do likewise.”
38
And it happened as they journeyed that he entered a certain village. And a certain ishah named Martha received him into her house.
39
And she had a sister called Miryam, who also sat at the feet of the Master and listened to his word.
40
But Martha was being pulled away by much serving. And coming near, she said: “Master, does it not concern you that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41
But the Master answered and said to her: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.
42
But one thing is necessary. For Miryam has chosen the good portion, and it shall not be taken from her.”
