1
And he spoke a parable to them about the need always to pray and not become weary,
2
saying: “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear Elohim and did not regard Adam.
3
And there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’
4
For a time he was unwilling. But afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear Elohim and do not regard Adam,
5
yet because this widow keeps troubling me, I shall give her justice, lest by continually coming she wear me down.’”
6
And the Master said: “Hear what the unrighteous judge says.
7
And shall Elohim not bring justice for His chosen ones who cry to Him day and night, even though He bears long concerning them?
8
I tell you that He shall bring justice for them quickly. Yet when the Son of Adam comes, shall he find trust upon the earth?”
9
And he also spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and treated the rest with contempt:
10
“Two men went up into the House to pray, one a Parush and the other a tax collector.
11
The Parush stood and prayed these things concerning himself: ‘Elohim, I thank You that I am not like the rest of Adam—extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
12
I fast twice in the week. I give a tenth of everything I acquire.’
13
But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift his eyes toward the heavens, but struck his chest, saying, ‘Elohim, show mercy to me, a sinner.’
14
I tell you, this one went down to his house declared righteous rather than the other. For everyone exalting himself shall be humbled, but the one humbling himself shall be exalted.”
15
And they were bringing even infants to him so that he might touch them. But when the talmidim saw it, they rebuked them.
16
But Yahushua called them near, saying: “Allow the children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Elohim belongs to such as these.
17
Truly I tell you: whoever does not receive the Kingdom of Elohim like a child shall certainly not enter it.”
18
And a certain ruler asked him, saying: “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life?”
19
And Yahushua said to him: “Why do you call me good? No one is good except One—Elohim.
20
You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery. Do not murder. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother.”
21
And he said: “All these I have guarded from my youth.”
22
And when Yahushua heard this, he said to him: “One thing you still lack. Sell everything you have and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in the heavens. Then come, follow me.”
23
But when he heard these things, he became deeply grieved, for he was exceedingly rich.
24
And Yahushua, seeing him, said: “How difficult it is for those having wealth to enter the Kingdom of Elohim.
25
For it is easier for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Elohim.”
26
And those hearing said: “Then who is able to be saved?”
27
But he said: “The things impossible with Adam are possible with Elohim.”
28
And Kepha said: “See, we left our own things and followed you.”
29
And he said to them: “Truly I tell you, there is no one who left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of Elohim,
30
who shall not receive many times more in this appointed time, and in the age coming everlasting life.”
31
And taking the twelve aside, he said to them: “See, we are going up to Yerushalayim, and all the things written through the prophets concerning the Son of Adam shall be completed.
32
For he shall be handed over to the nations, and shall be mocked, insulted, and spat upon.
33
And after scourging him, they shall kill him, and on the third day he shall rise.”
34
But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what was being spoken.
35
And it happened, as he drew near to Yericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the road begging.
36
And hearing a crowd passing by, he asked what this meant.
37
And they told him: “Yahushua the Natzri is passing by.”
38
And he cried out, saying: “Yahushua, Son of Daviyd, have compassion on me.”
39
And those going ahead rebuked him so that he would be silent. But he cried out much more: “Son of Daviyd, have compassion on me.”
40
And Yahushua stopped and commanded that he be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him,
41
“What do you desire that I do for you?” And he said: “Master, that I may receive sight.”
42
And Yahushua said to him: “Receive sight. Your trust has restored you.”
43
And immediately he received sight and followed him, glorifying Elohim. And all the people, seeing it, gave praise to Elohim.
