1
Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called Pesach, was drawing near.
2
And the chief kohenim and the scribes were seeking how they might kill him, for they feared the people.
3
And the adversary entered Yehudah, the one called of Qeriyot, who was numbered among the twelve.
4
And he went away and spoke with the chief kohenim and the officers of the House concerning how he might hand Yahushua over to them.
5
And they rejoiced and agreed to give him silver.
6
And he consented and began seeking an opportunity to hand him over to them away from the crowd.
7
And the day of Unleavened Bread came, on which the Pesach had to be slaughtered.
8
And Yahushua sent Kepha and Yochanan, saying: “Go. Prepare Pesach for us, so that we may eat.”
9
And they said to him: “Where do you desire that we prepare it?”
10
And he said to them: “See— when you enter the city, an ish carrying a jar of water shall meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
11
And say to the master of the house: ‘The Teacher says to you: Where is the guest room where I may eat Pesach with my talmidim?’
12
And he shall show you a large upper room, furnished. There prepare.”
13
And they went and found it just as he had told them. And they prepared Pesach.
14
And when the hour came, he reclined, and the emissaries with him.
15
And he said to them: “With desire I have desired to eat this Pesach with you before I suffer.
16
For I tell you: I shall certainly not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of Elohim.”
17
And receiving a cup, he gave thanks and said: “Take this and divide it among yourselves.
18
For I tell you: from now on I shall certainly not drink from the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of Elohim comes.”
19
And taking bread, he gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This is my body, which is being given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
20
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying: “This cup is the renewed Covenant in my blood, which is being poured out for you.
21
But see— the hand of the one handing me over is with me upon the table.
22
For the Son of Adam indeed goes according to what has been determined. But woe to that ish through whom he is handed over.”
23
And they began to question among themselves which one of them might be the one about to do this.
24
And a dispute also arose among them concerning which of them was considered to be greatest.
25
And he said to them: “The kings of the nations rule over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors.
26
But you shall not be so. Rather, the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the one leading like the one serving.
27
For who is greater— the one reclining at the table or the one serving? Is it not the one reclining? But I am in your midst as the one serving.
28
And you are those who have remained with me in my trials.
29
And I appoint to you a Kingdom, just as my Father appointed one to me,
30
so that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom, and sit upon thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisra’el.
31
Shim’on, Shim’on— see, the adversary demanded to have you, to sift you like wheat.
32
But I petitioned concerning you that your trust would not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
33
And he said to him: “Master, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.”
34
But he said: “I tell you, Kepha: the rooster shall not call today until you have denied three times that you know me.”
35
And he said to them: “When I sent you without purse, or bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?” And they said: “Nothing.”
36
And he said to them: “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. And whoever does not have one, let him sell his outer garment and buy a sword.
37
For I tell you that this which is written must be completed in me: ‘And he was counted with the lawless.’ For what concerns me is reaching its completion.”
38
And they said: “Master, see— here are two swords.” And he said to them: “It is enough.”
39
And going out, he went, according to his custom, to the Mount of Olives. And his talmidim also followed him.
40
And when he came to the place, he said to them: “Pray, so that you do not enter into testing.”
41
And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and kneeling, he prayed,
42
saying: “Father, if You desire, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done.”
43
And a messenger from the heavens appeared to him, strengthening him.
44
And being in severe anguish, he prayed more intensely. And his sweat became like heavy drops of blood falling to the ground.
45
And rising from prayer, he came to the talmidim and found them sleeping because of grief.
46
And he said to them: “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray, so that you do not enter into testing.”
47
While he was still speaking, see— a crowd came. And the one called Yehudah, one of the twelve, was going before them. And he drew near to Yahushua to kiss him.
48
But Yahushua said to him: “Yehudah, with a kiss are you handing over the Son of Adam?”
49
And those around him, seeing what was about to happen, said: “Master, shall we strike with the sword?”
50
And one of them struck the servant of the great kohen and cut off his right ear.
51
But Yahushua answered: “Enough of this.” And touching his ear, he restored him.
52
And Yahushua said to the chief kohenim, and officers of the House, and elders who had come against him: “Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber?
53
Day after day, while I was with you in the House, you did not stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour and the authority of darkness.”
54
And seizing him, they led him away and brought him into the house of the great kohen. And Kepha followed from a distance.
55
And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Kepha sat among them.
56
And a certain servant girl, seeing him sitting in the light of the fire, looked intently at him and said: “This one also was with him.”
57
But he denied it, saying: “Ishah, I do not know him.”
58
And after a little while, another saw him and said: “You also are one of them.” But Kepha said: “Ish, I am not.”
59
And after about one hour had passed, another strongly insisted, saying: “Truly, this one also was with him, for he too is a Galili.”
60
But Kepha said: “Ish, I do not know what you are saying.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster called.
61
And the Master turned and looked at Kepha. And Kepha remembered the word of the Master, how he had said to him: “Before the rooster calls today, you shall deny me three times.”
62
And going outside, he wept bitterly.
63
And the men holding Yahushua mocked him and beat him.
64
And covering his face, they questioned him, saying: “Prophesy— who is the one who struck you?”
65
And many other things they spoke against him, blaspheming.
66
And when day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together— both chief kohenim and scribes. And they led him into their council, saying:
67
“If you are the Anointed, tell us.” But he said to them: “If I tell you, you shall certainly not trust.
68
And if I question you, you shall certainly not answer.
69
But from now on the Son of Adam shall be sitting at the right hand of the power of Elohim.”
70
And they all said: “Are you then the Son of Elohim?” And he said to them: “You yourselves say that I am.”
71
And they said: “What further need do we have of testimony? For we ourselves heard it from his own mouth.”
