16
And Yaaqov fathered Yoseph, the ish of Miryam, from whom was born Yahushua, who is called the Anointed.
17
Therefore all the generations from Avraham until Daviyd were fourteen generations; and from Daviyd until the exile to Bavel, fourteen generations; and from the exile to Bavel until the Anointed, fourteen generations.
18
Now the birth of Yahushua the Anointed was in this manner: Miryam his mother had been pledged to Yoseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Ruach.
19
And Yoseph, her ish, being righteous, and not desiring to expose her publicly to shame, determined to release her quietly.
20
But while he was considering these things, see— a messenger of Yahuah appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Yoseph, son of Daviyd, do not fear to take Miryam as your ishah, for what has been conceived within her is from the Holy Ruach.
21
And she shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Yahushua, for he shall save his people from their sins.”
22
And all this happened so that what was spoken by Yahuah through the prophet might be fulfilled:
23
“See— the young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanu’el,” which means: “El is with us.”
24
Then Yoseph arose from sleep and did as the messenger of Yahuah commanded him, and took Miryam as his ishah.
25
But he did not know her until she had borne her firstborn son. And he called his name Yahushua.
