1
And after six days Yahushua took Kepha, Yaaqov, and Yochanan his brother, and brought them up onto a high mountain by themselves.
2
And he was transformed before them. And his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white like light.
3
And see— Mosheh and Eliyahu appeared to them, speaking with him.
4
Then Kepha answered and said to Yahushua: “Master, it is good for us to be here. If you desire, I shall make here three shelters: one for you, one for Mosheh, and one for Eliyahu.”
5
While he was still speaking, see— a bright cloud overshadowed them. And see— a voice came from the cloud, saying: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I delight. Hear him.”
6
And when the talmidim heard, they fell upon their faces and became exceedingly afraid.
7
And Yahushua came near, touched them, and said: “Rise. Do not fear.”
8
And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Yahushua alone.
9
And as they came down from the mountain, Yahushua commanded them, saying: “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Adam has been raised from the dead.”
10
And his talmidim asked him, saying: “Why then do the scribes say that Eliyahu must come first?”
11
And he answered and said: “Eliyahu indeed comes and shall restore all things.
12
But I tell you: Eliyahu has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they desired. So also the Son of Adam is about to suffer by their hands.”
13
Then the talmidim understood that he spoke to them concerning Yochanan the Immerser.
14
And when they came to the crowd, an ish came near to him, fell upon his knees before him,
15
and said: “Master, have compassion on my son, for he is afflicted with recurring seizures and suffers terribly. For many times he falls into the fire, and many times into the water.
16
And I brought him to your talmidim, but they were not able to restore him.”
17
And Yahushua answered and said: “O faithless and twisted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
18
And Yahushua rebuked it, and the unclean ruach came out from him. And the boy was restored from that hour.
19
Then the talmidim came to Yahushua privately and said: “Why were we not able to drive it out?”
20
And he said to them: “Because of your little trust. For truly I tell you: if you have trust like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain: ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing shall be impossible for you.”
21
[This kind does not go out except through prayer and fasting.]
22
And while they were gathering in Galil, Yahushua said to them: “The Son of Adam is about to be handed over into the hands of Adam.
23
And they shall kill him, and on the third day he shall be raised.” And they were exceedingly grieved.
24
And when they came to Kefar-Nachum, those who collected the two-drachma Temple tax came to Kepha and said: “Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?”
25
He said: “Yes.” And when he entered the house, Yahushua spoke first to him, saying: “What do you think, Shim’on? From whom do the kings of the earth receive tribute or tax? From their own sons, or from others?”
26
And Kepha said: “From others.” Yahushua said to him: “Then the sons are free.
27
But so that we do not cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. And when you open its mouth, you shall find a coin. Take it and give it to them for me and for you.”
