1
And it came to pass, when Yahushua finished these words, he departed from Galil and came into the territory of Yehudah beyond the Yarden.
2
And great crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
3
And the Perushim came near to him, testing him, and saying: “Is it permitted for an ish to release his ishah for any cause?”
4
And he answered and said: “Have you not read that the One who made them from the beginning made them male and female,
5
and said: ‘Because of this an ish shall leave his father and his mother and cling to his ishah, and the two shall become one flesh’?
6
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what Elohim has joined together, let no Adam separate.”
7
They said to him: “Why then did Mosheh command to give a sefer of divorce and release her?”
8
He said to them: “Mosheh permitted you to release your wives because of the hardness of your hearts. But from the beginning it was not so.
9
And I tell you: whoever releases his ishah, except because of sexual unfaithfulness, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries the one released commits adultery.”
10
His talmidim said to him: “If this is the condition of an ish with his ishah, it is not profitable to marry.”
11
But he said to them: “Not everyone is able to receive this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
12
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb. And there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by Adam. And there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs because of the Kingdom of the heavens. The one who is able to receive this, let him receive it.”
13
Then little children were brought to him so that he might place his hands upon them and pray. But the talmidim rebuked them.
14
And Yahushua said: “Permit the little children, and do not hinder them from coming to me, for of such is the Kingdom of the heavens.”
15
And he placed his hands upon them and departed from there.
16
And see— an ish came near to him and said: “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have everlasting life?”
17
And he said to him: “Why do you ask me concerning what is good? One is good. But if you desire to enter life, guard the commandments.”
18
He said to him: “Which?” And Yahushua said: “‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not bear false testimony.’
19
‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20
The young ish said to him: “All these I have guarded. What do I still lack?”
21
Yahushua said to him: “If you desire to be complete, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in the heavens. Then come and follow me.”
22
But when the young ish heard the word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.
23
And Yahushua said to his talmidim: “Truly I tell you: with difficulty shall a rich ish enter the Kingdom of the heavens.
24
And again I tell you: it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich ish to enter the Kingdom of Elohim.”
25
And when the talmidim heard, they were exceedingly astonished, saying: “Who then is able to be saved?”
26
And Yahushua looked at them and said: “With Adam this is impossible. But with Elohim all things are possible.”
27
Then Kepha answered and said to him: “See— we left everything and followed you. What then shall there be for us?”
28
And Yahushua said to them: “Truly I tell you: in the renewal, when the Son of Adam sits upon the throne of his glory, you who followed me shall also sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisra’el.
29
And everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, because of my name, shall receive a hundredfold and shall inherit everlasting life.
30
But many who are first shall be last, and the last first.”
