1
And there was an ish from the Perushim, whose name was Nakdimon, a ruler among the Yehudim.
2
This one came to Yahushua by night and said to him: “Rabbi, we know that you have come from Elohim as a teacher, for no one is able to do these signs which you do unless Elohim is with him.”
3
Yahushua answered and said to him: “Truly, truly, I tell you: unless an Adam is born from above, he is not able to see the Kingdom of Elohim.”
4
Nakdimon said to him: “How is an Adam able to be born when he is old? Is he able to enter a second time into the womb of his mother and be born?”
5
Yahushua answered: “Truly, truly, I tell you: unless an Adam is born from water and Ruach, he is not able to enter the Kingdom of Elohim.
6
What has been born from flesh is flesh. And what has been born from Ruach is ruach.
7
Do not marvel that I said to you: ‘You must be born from above.’
8
The wind blows where it desires, and you hear its sound, but you do not know from where it comes or where it goes. So it is with everyone who has been born from Ruach.”
9
Nakdimon answered and said to him: “How are these things able to happen?”
10
Yahushua answered and said to him: “You are a teacher of Yisra’el, and you do not know these things?
11
Truly, truly, I tell you: we speak what we know, and testify to what we have seen, yet you do not receive our testimony.
12
If I told you earthly things and you do not trust, how shall you trust if I tell you the things of the heavens?
13
And no one has ascended into the heavens except the one who descended from the heavens— the Son of Adam.
14
And just as Mosheh lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so also the Son of Adam must be lifted up,
15
so that everyone who trusts in him may have everlasting life.
16
For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17
For Elohim did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be delivered through him.
18
The one who trusts in him is not condemned. But the one who does not trust has already been condemned, because he has not trusted in the Name of the unique Son of Elohim.
19
And this is the Judgment: the Light has come into the world, and Adam loved the darkness more than the Light, because their works were evil.
20
For everyone who practices evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light, lest his works be exposed.
21
But the one who does the truth comes to the Light, so that his works may be revealed as having been worked in Elohim.”
22
After these things Yahushua and his talmidim went into the land of Yehudah. And there he remained with them and immersed.
23
And Yochanan also was immersing at Aenon near Shalem, because much water was there. And people were coming and being immersed.
24
For Yochanan had not yet been cast into prison.
25
Therefore a dispute arose between some of the talmidim of Yochanan and a Yehudi concerning purification.
26
And they came to Yochanan and said to him: “Rabbi, the one who was with you beyond the Yarden, to whom you testified— see, he is immersing, and all are going to him.”
27
Yochanan answered and said: “An Adam is not able to receive anything unless it has been given to him from the heavens.
28
You yourselves bear witness that I said: ‘I am not the Anointed,’ but: ‘I have been sent before him.’
29
The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the voice of the bridegroom. Therefore this joy of mine has been made complete.
30
He must increase, but I must decrease.”
31
The one coming from above is above all. The one being from the earth is from the earth and speaks from the earth. The one coming from the heavens is above all.
32
What he has seen and heard, this he testifies, and no one receives his testimony.
33
The one who receives his testimony has sealed that Elohim is true.
34
For the one whom Elohim sent speaks the words of Elohim, for He gives the Ruach without measure.
35
The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.
36
The one who trusts in the Son has everlasting life. But the one who refuses obedience to the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains upon him.
