1
“Truly, truly, I tell you: the one who does not enter the sheepfold through the door, but climbs in by another way, that one is a thief and a robber.
2
But the one who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3
To this one the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice. And he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4
And when he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
5
But a stranger they shall certainly not follow, but shall flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
6
Yahushua spoke this parable to them, but they did not understand what the things were that he was saying to them.
7
Therefore Yahushua said to them again: “Truly, truly, I tell you: I am the door of the sheep.
8
All who came before me as false claimants are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
9
I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he shall be delivered, and shall go in and go out and find pasture.
10
The thief does not come except to steal, and kill, and destroy. I came so that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
11
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12
But the hired worker, who is not the shepherd, and to whom the sheep do not belong, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees. And the wolf seizes them and scatters them.
13
He flees because he is a hired worker and does not care for the sheep.
14
I am the good shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me,
15
just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep.
16
And I have other sheep which are not from this fold. These also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
17
Because of this the Father loves me: because I lay down my life so that I may take it again.
18
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down from myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. This commandment I received from my Father.”
19
Again there was division among the Yehudim because of these words.
20
And many of them were saying: “He has an unclean ruach and is mad. Why do you hear him?”
21
Others were saying: “These are not the words of one having an unclean ruach. Is an unclean ruach able to open the eyes of the blind?”
22
And the Feast of Dedication was taking place in Yerushalayim. It was winter.
23
And Yahushua was walking in the House, in the covered walkway of Shəlomah.
24
Therefore the Yehudim surrounded him and said to him: “How long do you keep our beings in suspense? If you are the Anointed, tell us openly.”
25
Yahushua answered them: “I told you, and you do not trust. The works which I do in the Name of my Father— these testify concerning me.
26
But you do not trust because you are not from my sheep.
27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
28
And I give them everlasting life, and they shall certainly not perish to the age, and no one shall seize them from my hand.
29
My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to seize them from the hand of the Father.
30
I and the Father are one.”
31
The Yehudim again picked up stones to stone him.
32
Yahushua answered them: “Many good works I showed you from the Father. For which of these works are you stoning me?”
33
The Yehudim answered him: “We are not stoning you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because you, being an ish, make yourself Elohim.”
34
Yahushua answered them: “Is it not written in your Torah: ‘I said: you are elohim’?
35
If He called those to whom the Word of Elohim came elohim— and the writing is not able to be broken—
36
do you say to the one whom the Father set apart and sent into the world: ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said: ‘I am Son of Elohim’?
37
If I do not do the works of my Father, do not trust me.
38
But if I do them, even if you do not trust me, trust the works, so that you may know and continue to know that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
39
Therefore they were seeking again to seize him, but he went out from their hand.
40
And he went away again beyond the Yarden, to the place where Yochanan was immersing at first, and he remained there.
41
And many came to him and were saying: “Yochanan indeed did no sign, but everything Yochanan said concerning this one was true.”
42
And many trusted in him there.
