1
And the children of Yis’rael proceeded from Rephidim and they encamped in the wilderness of Sinai, in the third month from their going forth from Mitsrayim.
2
At that time came Reuel the Midyani, the father-in-Torah of Mosheh, with Tsipporah his daughter and her two sons, for he had heard of the wonders of Yahuah which he had done to Yis’rael, that he had delivered them from the hand of Mitsrayim.
3
And Reuel came to Mosheh to the wilderness where he was encamped, where was the mountain of Elohim.
4
And Mosheh went forth to meet his father-in-law with great honor, and all Yis’rael was with him.
5
And Reuel and his children remained among the Yis’ra’eliym for many days, and Reuel knew Yahuah from that day forward.
6
And in the third month from the children of Yis’rael's departure from Mitsrayim, on the sixth day of it, Yahuah gave to Yis’rael the ten mitsvot on Mount Sinai.
7
And all Yis’rael heard all these mitsvot, and all Yis’rael rejoiced exceedingly in Yahuah on that day.
8
And the glory of Yahuah rested upon Mount Sinai, and he called to Mosheh, and Mosheh came in the midst of a cloud and ascended the mountain.
9
And Mosheh was upon the mount forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water, and Yahuah instructed him in the statutes and judgments in order to teach the children of Yis’rael.
10
And Yahuah wrote the ten mitsvot which he had commanded the children of Yis’rael upon two tablets of stone, which he gave to Mosheh to command the children of Yis’rael.
11
And at the end of forty days and forty nights, when Yahuah had finished speaking to Mosheh on Mount Sinai, then Yahuah gave to Mosheh the tablets of stone, written with the finger of Elohim.
12
And when the children of Yis’rael saw that Mosheh tarried to come down from the mount, they gathered round Aharon, and said, As for this man Mosheh we know not what has become of him.
13
Now therefore rise up, make to us a god who shall go before us, so that you shall not die.
14
And Aharon was greatly afraid of the people, and he ordered them to bring him gold and he made it into a molten calf for the people.
15
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, before he had come down from the mount, Get you down, for your people whom you did bring forth from Mitsrayim have corrupted themselves.
16
They have made to themselves a molten calf, and have bowed down to it, now therefore leave me, that I may consume them from off the earth, for they are a stiffnecked people.
17
And Mosheh besought the countenance of Yahuah, and he prayed to Yahuah for the people on account of the calf which they had made, and he afterward descended from the mount and in his hands were the two tablets of stone, which Elohim had given him to command the Yis’ra’eliym.
18
And when Mosheh approached the camp and saw the calf which the people had made, the anger of Mosheh was kindled and he broke the tablets under the mount.
19
And Mosheh came to the camp and he took the calf and burned it with fire, and ground it till it became fine dust, and strewed it upon the water and gave it to the Yis’ra’eliym to drink.
20
And there died of the people by the swords of each other about three thousand men who had made the calf.
21
And on the morrow Mosheh said to the people, I will go up to Yahuah, peradventure I may make atonement for your sins which you have sinned to Yahuah.
22
And Mosheh again went up to Yahuah, and he remained with Yahuah forty days and forty nights.
23
And during the forty days did Mosheh entreat Yahuah in behalf of the children of Yis’rael, and Yahuah listened to the prayer of Mosheh, and Yahuah was entreated of him in behalf of Yis’rael.
24
Then spoke Yahuah to Mosheh to hew two stone tablets and to bring them up to Yahuah, who would write upon them the ten mitsvot.
25
Now Mosheh did so, and he came down and hewed the two tablets and went up to Mount Sinai to Yahuah, and Yahuah wrote the ten mitsvot upon the tablets.
26
And Mosheh remained yet with Yahuah forty days and forty nights, and Yahuah instructed him in statutes and judgments to impart to Yis’rael.
27
And Yahuah commanded him respecting the children of Yis’rael that they should make a sanctuary for Yahuah, that his name might rest in it, and Yahuah showed him the likeness of the sanctuary and the likeness of all its vessels.
28
And at the end of the forty days, Mosheh came down from the mount and the two tablets were in his hand.
29
And Mosheh came to the children of Yis’rael and spoke to them all the words of Yahuah, and he taught them laws, statutes and judgments which Yahuah had taught him.
30
And Mosheh told the children of Yis’rael the word of Yahuah, that a sanctuary should be made for him, to dwell among the children of Yis’rael.
31
And the people rejoiced greatly at all the good which Yahuah had spoken to them, through Mosheh, and they said, We will do all that Yahuah has spoken to you.
32
And the people rose up like one man and they made generous offerings to the sanctuary of Yahuah, and each man brought the offering of Yahuah for the work of the sanctuary, and for all its service.
33
And all the children of Yis’rael brought each man of all that was found in his possession for the work of the sanctuary of Yahuah, gold, silver and brass, and every thing that was serviceable for the sanctuary.
34
And all the wise men who were practiced in work came and made the sanctuary of Yahuah, according to all that Yahuah had commanded, every man in the work in which he had been practiced; and all the wise men in heart made the sanctuary, and its furniture and all the vessels for the set-apart service, as Yahuah had commanded Mosheh.
35
And the work of the sanctuary of the Mishkan was completed at the end of five months, and the children of Yis’rael did all that Yahuah had commanded Mosheh.
36
And they brought the sanctuary and all its furniture to Mosheh; like to the representation which Yahuah had shown to Mosheh, so did the children of Yis’rael.
37
And Mosheh saw the work, and behold they did it as Yahuah had commanded him, so Mosheh blessed them.
