1
After these things I saw another messenger descending from the heavens, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory.
2
And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a dwelling place of shedim, a prison of every unclean ruach, and a prison of every unclean bird, and a prison of every unclean and hated beast.
3
For all nations drank from the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth became rich from the power of her luxury."
4
And I heard another voice from the heavens saying, "Come out of her, My People, so that you do not share in her sins and so that you do not receive from her plagues,
5
because her sins reached as far as the heavens, and Elohim remembered her unrighteous deeds.
6
Repay her just as she repaid, and double to her double according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix double for her.
7
As much as she glorified herself and lived in luxury, give her so much torment and mourning, because in her heart she says, 'I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I shall certainly not see mourning.'
8
Because of this, in one day her plagues shall come - death, mourning, and famine - and she shall be burned with fire, because strong is Yahuah Elohim who judges her.
9
And the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her shall weep and mourn over her whenever they see the smoke of her burning,
10
standing far away because of fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city, because in one hour your Judgment came.'
11
And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any longer:
12
cargo of gold, silver, precious stone, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, every fragrant wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel of precious wood, bronze, iron, marble,
13
cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, chariots, bodies, and beings of Adam.
14
And the fruit your being desired departed from you, and all splendid and radiant things perished from you, and they shall certainly not find them any longer.
15
The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, shall stand far away because of fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
16
saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls,
17
because in one hour such great wealth was made desolate.' And every shipmaster, everyone sailing to a place, sailors, and as many as work the sea stood far away
18
and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What city was like the great city?'
19
And they cast dust upon their heads and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, through whose wealth all those having ships in the sea became rich, because in one hour she was made desolate.'
20
Rejoice over her, heavens, and set-apart ones, emissaries, and prophets, because Elohim judged your Judgment against her."
21
And one strong messenger lifted a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, "In this way Babylon the great city shall be thrown down with violence and shall certainly not be found any longer.
22
And the sound of harpists, musicians, flute-players, and shofar-blowers shall certainly not be heard in you any longer; and every craftsman of every craft shall certainly not be found in you any longer; and the sound of a millstone shall certainly not be heard in you any longer.
23
And the light of a lamp shall certainly not shine in you any longer, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall certainly not be heard in you any longer, because your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because by your sorcery all nations were deceived.
24
And in her was found the blood of prophets and set-apart ones and of all those slaughtered upon the earth."
