1
Wisdom guarded the first-formed father of the world, who was created alone, and delivered him from his own transgression.
2
She gave him strength to rule over all things.
3
But when an unrighteous one departed from her in his anger, he perished through the fury with which he murdered his brother.
4
And when the earth was flooded because of him, wisdom again saved it, guiding the righteous one by a piece of wood of little worth.
5
And when nations were confounded in a common agreement of wickedness, she knew the righteous one, guarded him blameless before Elohim, and kept him strong against compassion for his son.
6
When the wicked were being destroyed, she delivered the righteous one, who fled from the fire falling upon the five cities.
7
Of their wickedness there still remains a smoking wasteland, plants bearing fruit that never ripens, and a pillar of salt standing as a memorial of an unbelieving being.
8
For passing wisdom by, they not only suffered this harm— that they did not know good— but also left behind for life a memorial of their foolishness, so that the things in which they failed could not be hidden.
9
But wisdom delivered from troubles those who served her.
10
When a righteous one fled from his brother’s wrath, she guided him in straight paths. She showed him the Kingdom of Elohim and gave him knowledge of holy things. She prospered him in his labors and multiplied the fruit of his works.
11
In the greed of those who oppressed him, she stood beside him and made him rich.
12
She guarded him from enemies and kept him safe from those lying in wait. And in his severe struggle she gave him victory, that he might know that reverence is stronger than all.
13
She did not abandon the righteous one when he was sold, but delivered him from sin.
14
She descended with him into the pit and did not leave him in his chains, until she brought him the scepter of a kingdom and authority over those who oppressed him. She exposed as false those who accused him and gave him everlasting glory.
15
She delivered a holy people and blameless seed from a nation of oppressors.
16
She entered the being of a servant of Yahuah and stood against fearsome kings with signs and wonders.
17
She gave the holy ones the reward of their labors, guided them in a marvelous way, and became for them a covering by day and a flame of stars through the night.
18
She brought them through the Sea of Reeds and led them through many waters.
19
But their enemies she drowned and cast them up from the depth of the abyss.
20
Therefore the righteous stripped the wicked and sang praise to Your Holy Name, Yahuah, and together magnified Your hand that fought for them.
21
For wisdom opened the mouth of the mute and made the tongues of infants speak clearly.
