1
“When Yahuah your Elohim brings you into the land into which you are going to possess it, and He drives out many nations from before your face—the Chitti, and the Girgashi, and the Emori, and the Kena’ani, and the Perizzi, and the Chivvi, and the Yevusi—seven nations greater and mightier than you,
2
and Yahuah your Elohim gives them before your face, and you strike them, devoting, you shall surely devote them to destruction. You shall cut no covenant with them and show them no favor.
3
And you shall not intermarry with them. Your daughter you shall not give to his son, and his daughter you shall not take for your son.
4
For he will turn your son away from following Me, and they will serve other elohim. Then the anger of Yahuah will burn against you and destroy you quickly.
5
But thus you shall do to them: you shall tear down their altars, and break their pillars, and cut down their Asherim, and burn their carved images with fire.
6
For you are a holy people to Yahuah your Elohim. Yahuah your Elohim has chosen you to be for Him a treasured people, from all the peoples who are upon the face of the earth.
7
Not because you were more numerous than all the peoples did Yahuah set His affection upon you and choose you, for you were the fewest of all the peoples,
8
but because Yahuah loved you, and because He guarded the oath that He swore to your fathers, Yahuah brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim.
9
And you shall know that Yahuah your Elohim—He is Elohim, the faithful El, guarding the covenant and covenant-faithfulness to those who love Him and guard His commandments, to a thousand generations,
10
but repaying those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not delay toward the one who hates Him; to his face He will repay him.
11
And you shall guard the commandment, and the statutes, and the judgments that I command you today, to do them.
12
And it shall be, because you hear these judgments and guard and do them, that Yahuah your Elohim will guard for you the covenant and the covenant-faithfulness that He swore to your fathers.
13
And He will love you, and bless you, and multiply you. And He will bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain, and your new wine, and your oil, the offspring of your cattle and the increase of your flock, upon the land that He swore to your fathers to give you.
14
Blessed shall you be above all peoples. There shall not be among you a barren male or female, nor among your livestock.
15
And Yahuah will turn away from you every sickness, and all the evil diseases of Mitzrayim that you knew He will not place upon you, but He will place them upon all those who hate you.
16
And you shall consume all the peoples whom Yahuah your Elohim gives to you. Your eye shall not pity them, and you shall not serve their elohim, for that would be a snare to you.
17
If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I dispossess them?’
18
you shall not fear them. Remembering, you shall surely remember what Yahuah your Elohim did to Pharaoh and to all Mitzrayim,
19
the great trials that your eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the strong hand, and the outstretched arm by which Yahuah your Elohim brought you out. So shall Yahuah your Elohim do to all the peoples before whose face you are afraid.
20
And also the hornet Yahuah your Elohim will send among them, until those who remain and those who hide themselves from before your face are destroyed.
21
You shall not be terrified before their face, for Yahuah your Elohim is in your midst, a great and fearsome El.
22
And Yahuah your Elohim will drive out these nations from before your face little by little. You will not be able to consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field multiply against you.
23
But Yahuah your Elohim will give them before your face and throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed.
24
And He will give their kings into your hand, and you shall cause their name to perish from beneath the heavens. No ish shall stand before your face until you have destroyed them.
25
The carved images of their elohim you shall burn with fire. You shall not desire the silver or the gold that is upon them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be ensnared by it, for it is an abomination to Yahuah your Elohim.
26
And you shall not bring an abomination into your house and become devoted to destruction like it. Detesting, you shall utterly detest it, and abhorring, you shall utterly abhor it, for it is devoted to destruction.”
